WHAT ARE YOUR PRIORITIES?
Everyone has priorities and everyone chooses what to do within a 24 hour
day. As adults, if you do not pay your taxes you choose to have problems with
the IRS. Well, as an adult, if you do not have priorities that align with your
goals you choose to have problems with yourself and not reach your goals.
Not because you don't want to reach your goal, but because you have other
"priorities" at that time.
My dog ate my homework excuse does not work when you are the teacher
and you are the student. Finding excuses or lacking the self discipline to
make something a priority, can be detrimental in reaching your goals. In-
stead of finding excuses, find results, find little wins that you have worked for
in order for those excuses to seek a different door. Those little wins can be
taking the first step - writing out your goals, etc.
Having the responsibility, respect and commitment to yourself puts you
above everything and everyone else. Focusing on those results, even as little
as they might seem, gives you more confidence to move forward. For exam-
ple, someone who always finds excuses for everything finds very difficult to
reach his/her goals. However, instead of focusing on lack of focus, do your
best to focus on the task at hand. First, one sets a goal, then one commits to
change his/her way of life in order to reach it, and keeps moving forward.
This process will allow the individual to become successful.
It is not easy, I know. The most important action is something took
place. What changed in this scenario? ATTITUDE AND COMMITMENT. You
keep saying you want to improve your way of life, but do not actually make it
happen. It’s about finding something deep inside of you. Having
the commitment, respect and responsibility within you to make the transfor-
mation.
